Senior players Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo have recovered from their respective injuries and are available for selection from Chennai super Kings’ next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.

Both of them missed CSK’s two previous games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Bravo in fact missed all three of them as he was carrying a niggle from his stint at the CPL. The news of the player’s recovery was confirmed by CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan.

Viswanathan revealed that Ambati Rayudu and Bravo have joined the practice and have looked good. It will be a serious booster for the Super Kings ahead of their next game.

“Rayudu has recovered well from a hamstring strain and will play in the next game. He ran and sprinted during training and batted without any discomfort at the nets,” CSK CEO K.S. Viswanathan told Sportstar on Monday.

“He bowled well at the nets,” said Viswanathan. “We have bounced back from adversity in the past. We will do so again,” Vishwanathan further added.

CSK’s middle-order was exposed in the matches against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi capitals in the absence of these two players. While they lost to the Royals by 16 runs, they fell short by 44 runs against Delhi Capitals. CSK lost both the games while chasing.

Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo coming back into the side will be a huge booster for the captain and coach, who were found wanting for someone to take responsibilities in the middle-order. Dwayne Bravo was also missed as he is a quality death bowler for CSK with years of experience on his back.

CSK has looked a considerably weaker side in the absence of these two senior players. Their openers too did not fire yet in the tournament which is why someone like an Ambati Rayudu was so key in the middle-order for CSK.

They play Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are yet to win their first game of the season on October 2. CSK interestingly are placed at number seven at the moment after those two back to back defeats.
