Rahul Dravid wins the T20 World Cup as coach:

It was a great moment in Indian cricket history when India won the T20 World Cup 2024 for the second time ever in Barbados at the Kensington Oval; They beat South Africa by 7 runs on June 29 (Saturday) and gave a perfect farewell to the great Rahul Dravid. Thus, the historic victory, which became a victory for India after a long time with 11 years without trophies, ends the work of Dravid as head coach of the Indian team.

As a coach, Rahul Dravid achieved a feat that was not possible for him as a player: winning his first World Cup championship. The legend, nevertheless, remained modest about the triumph and stated that he did not see it as a way to make up for the 2007 ODI World Cup.

“Firstly, there is no redemption. I am not one of those guys who thinks about redemption and those kind of things. There are a lot of other players I know who have not been able to win a trophy”

“I was lucky to be allowed to coach, and I was lucky that this bunch of boys made it possible for me to be able to win a trophy and celebrate. It’s a nice feeling, but it’s not like I am aiming for some redemption, it’s just a job that I was doing. I loved doing the job, I loved working with Rohit and this team. It’s been a great journey and I have enjoyed it,” added after the match.

The Indian team, led by coach Rahul Dravid, went undefeated and captured the T20 World Cup 2024 for a second time.
