Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell has come up with a new hairstyle ahead of their IPL 2021 opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After blowing hot and cold in the last season in the UAE, the Jamaican-born all-rounder will look to set the ball rolling this season and lead his side from the front with both bat and the ball.
Back in 2019, Russell was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) as he delivered with both bat and ball, though his team couldn’t make the playoffs. The Caribbean all-rounder will look to revive his performance as the Eoin Morgan-led Knight Riders will look to add one more trophy to their tally of two IPL titles won back in 2012 and 2014.
Andre Russell goes blonde ahead of KKR’s first match
In the meantime, prior to KKR’s opening match against David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad, Russell has come up with a new hairstyle. The all-rounder has coloured his hair blonde. When he last coloured his hair, he smacked a 19-ball 49 against the Sunrisers itself at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata and will look to replicate his efforts. The Kolkata Knight Riders shared his picture on their official Twitter handle.

Andre Russell will be key to KKR’s success
Previously, Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer, said that the Knight Riders’ fortunes will depend a lot on how Russell and Dinesh Karthik play. Chopra also suggested KKR get Russell’s backup and the team roped in Australia’s Ben Cutting in the auction back in February.
“Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell’s form will be critical to their success. Their batting at No.5 and No.6 has to be super-hit for this team to do well. They need a backup for Russell, a player who can do two things, ” Chopra was quoted as saying in a video.
