Son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, was part of the Mumbai Indian franchise in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). The young all-rounder warmed the benches the entire season and was released ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
In a recently question-answer session, Arjun was asked to pick his favourite Mumbai Indians player. The franchise has seen many legendary players don the jersey which includes the like of his father Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult to name a few.
However, Arjun Tendulkar snubbed all the big names to pick fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as his favourite Mumbai cricketer.
Incidentally, Bumrah was unearthed by Mumbai Indians and has grown in stature ever since. Since impressing in the IPL, Bumrah went on to become India’s leading fast bowler at present across all formats.
So far, he has 130 wickets in 106 matches at an economy of 7.41 runs per over with the best figures of 4/14. Ever since Lasith Maling stepped down from the IPL, Bumrah has been their leading bowler and doing the business with the ball.
Speaking about the current season, the franchise retained the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. They had to let go of the likes of Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya to name a few.
Mumbai will look to build a strong squad going into the IPL 2022 mega auction scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
