The young all-rounder from Mumbai – Arjun Tendulkar has registered his name in the IPL 2021 auctions for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. The auctions will take place in Chennai on February 18 during the Test series between India and England.
Meanwhile, Arjun made himself available for the IPL 2021 auction after making his List A debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Incidentally, Arjun Tendulkar was not in the initial 20-members squad but was added later on after BCCI increased the squad size from 20 to 22. The moment came after Mumbai suffered two back-to-back defeats to start the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign.

The 21-year-old didn’t get an opportunity to bat, but Tendulkar scalped a wicket off his second over dismissing Chaitanya Bishnoi to give Mumbai a major breakthrough. In total, Arjun Tendulkar accounted for 1 for 34 from the three overs he bowled.

The youngster, who has been seen at the net of the Indian team and England side a couple of times, have registered for the IPL 2021 auction at the base price of ₹20 lakhs. A couple of franchises might be interested in him considering there are very few left-arm fast bowlers in the circuit.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians might show some interest as they have in previous years investing in young talents and moulding them to international stars like Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. Last year, he was with the Mumbai side as a net bowler when the tournament took place in the UAE.
Meanwhile, 1097 players from all across the world have registered for the upcoming IPL 2021 auction. It includes 207 capped, 863 uncapped, and 27 Associate players. If every franchise has a maximum of 25 players in their squad, 61 players will be taken in the auction (of which up to 22 may be overseas players).
