Currently, Graham Thorpe is in the lead role when it comes to the batting department. He is suffering from a sore shoulder as reported by ESPN Cricinfo and hence Trescothick”s arrival will act as a huge boost.

Joe Root”s men were in for a shock as Ireland derailed the hosts at Lord”s on day one of the Test match. England was all out for 85 but made a solid comeback and defended 182 runs in the fourth innings. Jack Leach opened the batting in the second innings and hit a memorable 92. Though he missed out on a maiden hundred, his effort was crucial as England avoided a setback ahead of the Ashes.
