Australian middle-order batsman Travis Head scored his third Test ton which turned out to be quite a contribution. Australia won the first test and his 152 in the first innings propelled England to a mammoth 425 in the first innings. Head also son the Man of the Match for his efforts.
Meanwhile, Travis Head was caught swearing on the stump mike en route to his Test ton. When he was batting on 86, the batter went for a full-blooded pull shot. It was only the 73rd ball that he faced, showing how aggressive he was during his knock.
On missing the shot that he tried to play, Head said “Oh you c***,” and his words were caught on the stump mike. The on-air commentators ignored the incident and decided to go ahead with the game.

The southpaw opened up on his knock after the game. He thanked the management and the skipper for backing him in the Test match and said that he was happy to contribute.
“The staff, Pat [Cummins] and JL [Justin Langer] were fantastic with the communication, gave me real clarity and a clear mind and great to get the nod and great to contribute. It is a great starting point for us as a team. Davey-Marnus partnership that set me up, late in the day to take my opportunity. It was a tough wicket, rode my luck, took my opportunities and it was nice to contribute and this morning was fantastic” he said.
It Was Nice To Contribute: Travis Head
Australian skipper Pat Cummins also lauded Head for his contribution with the bat. Cummisntook over Tim Paine as the Test skipper and started his stint on a winning note.
“I really enjoyed it, a lot of things did go right, probably from the toss – overcast conditions, wicket had a bit in it, turn up day two and it’s blue skies. So, someone was smiling on me. Really proud of everyone, complete performance, the bowlers did their thing, then Marnus and Davey’s partnership and the way Travis played. Sign of a positive, brave side. I was really happy about how everyone stuck to it, we bowled without luck yesterday,” Cummins said.
