There is always something intriguing with the All-Time XI charts of various players. Perhaps, because of the legendary players in the list or else because of the individual, who is revealing it. The latest to reveal his All-time greatest XI is Australia’s all-rounder Ashton Agar. The list includes legendary players of the game, who can seal the deal single-handedly for his side.
Ashton Agar’s playing XI is dominated by Australians, as he named five of them in his greatest XI. The remaining six include two players from India, two from West Indies one from Pakistan and one from Sri Lanka.
Virender Sehwag to open the innings:
Ashton Agar named Virender Sehwag of India as his opener and showered words of praise on him. He believes Sehwag is one of the best entertainers in the game of cricket and one of the few players, who can smash six right in the first ball.
“Opening the batting in my all-time XI, I will have Virender Sehwag come in at number one. He is one of my favourites cricketers of all time. Sehwag looked to hit the ball for a six from ball one. He is one of the most entertaining players to play the game,” said Agar as he picked Sehwag as the opener in his all-time greatest XI.
He asked the current head coach of Australia Justin Langer to join Virender Sehwag at the opening slot while the all-time greatest to grace the game Ricky Ponting is named at number 3. Following him, Ashton Agar picked the leading run-scorer in the game of cricket Sachin Tendulkar for number 4 position.
The legendary West Indian players Brian Lara and Viv Richards will take number 5 and 6 positions while Adam Gilchrist was asked to take the role of wicket-keeper. He asked Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar to be his fast bowlers and finished his lineup with Shane Warne and Rangana Herath.
