Asia Cup 2023: IND vs PAK – 3 Probable Wicket Takers

India will face Pakistan in the Super 4 match to be played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on 10 September 2023. Rohit Sharma-led side would look for a bright start in the Super 4 stage while Pakistan will create an impact by winning this big match against arch-rivals India.

The last time these two teams met was in the Group Stage encounter. India struggled initially losing the top four wickets at the score of 66 runs. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan stitched a superb 138-run partnership for 5th wicket leading India to post 266 in 48.5 overs. The Pakistan pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah picked all 10 wickets.

It promises to be an exciting encounter with both teams having top-quality bowling lineups. India and Pakistan would make sure that they can register victory depending upon the conditions prevailing.

Here we look at the 3 Bowlers Who Could Pick the Most Wickets in the Super 4 Contest Between India and Pakistan

1. Shaheen Shah Afridi

Shaheen Shah Afridi has been a major threat to the Indian batting lineup, especially against the top order including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. He has been performing well in this year’s Asia Cup picking up wickets whenever his captain Babar Azam needs him to do it.

He will look to do the damage in the first 10 overs and pick up early wickets putting pressure on the Indian top order. His ability to bowl quickly makes him a dangerous bowler to face and will look to do the same in tomorrow’s exciting battle.

2. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah will make a comeback into the playing XI after missing the previous match against Nepal due to the birth of his child. The premier pace bowler did not bowl in the first encounter as rain called off play.

He could replace Mohammed Shami in the match against Pakistan. His role is to pick early wickets putting pressure on the Pakistan openers especially Imam UL Haq and Fakhar Zaman. Bumrah would be itching to bowl and do the early damage by grabbing important wickets to leave Pakistan in trouble.

3. Naseem Shah

Naseem Shah has been performing brilliantly for Pakistan picking up early wickets and not allowing the batters to score runs freely. After getting injured while fielding, Shah produced some lovely deliveries ending with figures of 3 for 34 against Bangladesh.

He bowled with great control in the first encounter against India at Kandy. Shah looked in amazing rhythm and could swing with the new ball. The pace bowler would be looking to pick early wickets along with Shaheen Shah Afridi rattling the Indian top order.
