Asia Cup 2023: [WATCH] BCCI President And Officials Have Crossed The Wagah Border For Their Two-Day Visit To Pakistan

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla entered Lahore, Pakistan, on Monday, September 4th, after crossing the Attari-Wagah border, to participate in the Asia Cup. The BCCI’s president and vice-president are on a two-day trip to the neighbouring nation, having accepted an invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to be present at the final group match of the Asia Cup 2023 scheduled for Tuesday.

Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are set to compete at Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium. Additionally, the PCB will host a dinner for member nations of the ACC. In a conversation with ANI, Rajiv Shukla affirmed that their trip is solely focused on cricket matters, with no other intentions. He stated:

“This two-day visit is purely from the point of view of cricket, nothing political, a dinner has been hosted and three teams will be there – Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.”

The forthcoming matches in the Asia Cup 2023 are as follows:

Group Stage Matches:

Match 6: September 5 – Afghanistan faces Sri Lanka in Group B at Lahore, Pakistan, with a start time of 3:00 pm IST.

Here’s the Super Four Stage Schedule:

– Match 1: On September 6, A1 takes on B2 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, at 3:00 pm IST.

– Match 2: On September 9, B1 competes against B2 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at 3:00 pm IST.

– Match 3: On September 10, A1 clashes with A2 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at 3:00 pm IST.

– Match 4: On September 12, A2 squares off against B1 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at 3:00 pm IST.

– Match 5: On September 14, A1 takes on B1 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at 3:00 pm IST.

– Match 6: On September 15, A2 faces B2 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at 3:00 pm IST.

The Asia Cup 2023 final will take place on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Pakistan has already guaranteed their spot in the Super Four stage. The team emerging victorious in the match between India and Nepal will join them in advancing to the next stage from Group A.

Meanwhile, the outcome of the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on Tuesday will decide which two teams from Group B will progress to the Super Four in Asia Cup 2023.
