Asia Cup 2023: [WATCH] Ravindra Jadeja Pulls Off A Spectacular Catch In The Final

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is known for his exceptional fielding skills and is considered one of the best in the business. He once again showcased his remarkable fielding prowess during the 2023 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka on Sunday, September 17 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Jadeja pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Pathum Nissanka in the match.

The incident took place during the fourth over of the Sri Lankan innings. The hosts were struggling after losing their opener Kusal Perera in the first over. Mohammed Siraj bowled a length delivery which nipped inwards. Pathum Nissanka tried to punch the ball which went to the right of Ravindra Jadeja at a backward point. The Indian cricketer dived to the right to pull off a brilliant catch.

Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for two runs off just four deliveries. Sri Lanka was eventually bowled out for a paltry 50 runs, with a top score of 17 by Kusal Mendis. Mohammed Siraj picked up a six-wicket haul, while Hardik Pandya took three wickets.

India cruises to victory in Asia Cup final

Team India’s dominant performance against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo powered them to another Asia Cup title. They defeated the hosts by 10 wickets chasing down 51 runs in around seven overs. Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were unbeaten on 27 and 23 runs respectively. This is India’s eighth Asia Cup title win, the most by any team in the history of the tournament.

“The bowlers were on point today. I would like to give credit to the bowlers. Siraj and Bumrah,” said Ishan Kishan at the post-match presentation.

“It’s not easy to bat in the second innings. We were prepared for any challenge, we spoke about it in the team meetings,” the Indian batter added.
