Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is one of the best slip fielders in world cricket at the moment. He has pulled off several breathtaking catches while standing in the slip cordon. His sharp catching skills were once again displayed during India’s Super Four Asia Cup match against Bangladesh on Friday, September 15 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first. Indian pacers started the innings brilliantly reducing Bangladesh to 28/3 in just around six overs. Bangladesh suffered another blow in quick succession. Rohit Sharma’s outstanding catch further pushed them to the backfoot. In the fourteenth over, Axar Patel bowled an outside off-stump delivery to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who poked at it. The ball took a thick edge and flew towards the first slip.
Rohit Sharma showed great reflexes to pull off a terrific catch. He dived low to his right and grabbed the ball to complete the catch. Mehidy Hasan Miraz had to walk back to the pavilion for 13 runs off 28 deliveries, with just one boundary. He looked very uncomfortable and was struggling during his stay at the crease. Bangladesh was reeling at 59 for the loss of four wickets after his dismissal.
