Virat Kohli was one of the 5 changes made during the last Super 4 match against Bangladesh played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on 15th September 2023. Kohli looked happy during the first drinks of the Bangladesh innings. Virat Kohli and 4 other players were rested in today’s match. India made it into the finals with comprehensive wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma led the side lost by 6 runs in a closely fought encounter.

After opting to field first, Shardul Thakur bowled initially before Shakib AL Hasan and Hridoy stitched a valuable partnership for the 5th wicket. Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan showed their class putting another important contribution to help Bangladesh post 265 for 8 in 50 overs.

In reply, India lost 2 early wickets to Rohit Sharma and debutant Tilak Varma. Shubman Gill looked in brilliant touch showing class by hitting boundaries and keeping the scoreboard ticking. On the other hand, India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Gill scored a century and kept India’s hopes alive of winning the match. The opener was eventually dismissed for 121.

Axar Patel played a lovely hand but was dismissed in the 49th over as Bangladesh bowlers held onto their nerves to register their 2nd Asia Cup win in their history over India. However, during the game, Viral Kohli was seen carrying the drinks as well. And, the video went viral on social media in no time.

India will take on Sri Lanka in the Asia cup 2023 final

The Indian Cricket Team will face Sri Lanka in the finals of Asia Cup 2023 to be played in Colombo on 17th September. India thrashed Pakistan by 228 runs in the first Super 4 match before winning a low-scoring thriller against India by 41 runs.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs in their first Super 4 game. They bowled out India for 213 but lost the match by 41 runs. Thanks to a superb batting effort, Sri Lanka chased down 252 in 42 overs against Pakistan to qualify for the finals.

It promises to be an exciting contest as India won the Asia Cup title 7 times as compared to 6 by Sri Lanka. The Indian team would look to perform with their full potential as Virat Kohli, Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav will make a comeback into playing XI.
