Asian Games: “Miracles Do Come True” – Sai Kishore’s Emotional Reaction After His Debut For India

Chennai’s cricketer Sai Kishore expressed his immense joy after making his debut for India in the Asian Games 2023 against Nepal in Hangzhou, China. He turned to social media to extend his thanks to his mentors, including Ashish Nehra, Hemang Badani, and Ram Kumar.

Kishore also acknowledged the support he received from the Tamil Nadu Premier League team Chepauk Super Gillies and the Indian Premier League franchise Gujarat Titans.

Sharing on Instagram, Kishore provided the caption: “MIRACLES DO COME TRUE. Not here because of talent or ability. Here because of 4ams, hardwork and a dream, which didn’t make me sleep for some years now. An ordinary boy in Madipakkam dreaming to play for the INDIAN CRICKET TEAM and actually making it, MIRACLES DO COME TURE. Grateful to universe, Family, friends. Celebrating every moment of life. Love to all.”

For those who may not be familiar, Kishore has taken six wickets in five IPL matches to date. The left-arm spinner boasts a strong track record in domestic cricket, representing Tamil Nadu. The 26-year-old has claimed 113 wickets in 30 first-class matches and 73 wickets in 46 List-A matches.

In T20 cricket, he has secured 58 wickets in 50 matches with an economy rate of 5.49. Kishore also had a recent standout performance, taking 11 wickets in five games for South Zone during the Deodhar Trophy.

Sai Kishore claimed his first wicket for Team India during the Asian Games debut. He dismissed Nepal’s opener, Kushal Bhurtel, caught by Avesh Khan with a diving catch at short fine leg. In the same match, India defeated Nepal by 23 runs, advancing to the Asian Games 2023 semifinals.

India set a total of 202/4 in 20 overs, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable century, scoring 100 off 49 balls with seven sixes and eight boundaries. Rinku Singh contributed an unbeaten 37 runs off 15 balls with four sixes and two boundaries.

In the same game, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube made contributions of 25 runs each. Dipendra Singh was the standout bowler for Nepal, ending with statistics of 2/31, whereas Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed one wicket each.

In reply, the Indian team limited Nepal to 179/9 within 20 overs. Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi both secured three wickets, and Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets. Sai Kishore contributed with one wicket. Dipendra Singh Airee (32 runs off 15 balls), Sandeep Jora (29 runs off 12 balls), Kushal Malla (29 runs off 22 balls), and Kushal Bhurtel (28 runs off 32 balls) all had promising starts but couldn’t carry Nepal to victory.
