Australia cricketer Usman Khawaja recently rated between Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL), saying that all the cricketers in the world intend to play in the IPL as it is far bigger than its Pakistani counterpart.

Speaking ahead of the 1st Test in Rawalpindi starting March 4, Khawaja clearly stated that IPL is miles ahead from PSL. While both tournaments have played significant roles in unearthing raw talents, IPL has had a greater impact across the world.

Speaking at a media interaction ahead of the first Test, Usman Khawaja said:

Obviously, IPL is the strongest in the world. There’s not really a contest here (between PSL and the IPL), because at the end of the day, they have all the world come to them and it is the only league in the world to have Indian cricketers. So, it ends up becoming the best league in the world.

Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja had entered the IPL 2022 mega auction that took place last month. He had a reserve price of INR 1.5 crore, however, found no buyer.

Playing in Pakistan is special: Usman Khawaja

The Queenslander, who was born in Islamabad, also opened up on playing in the country of his birth and said that it is very special for him. His family had moved to Australia a few years after he was born.

“The fact that I’m playing in Pakistan is special, don’t get me wrong, it’s very special. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I grew up down the road. There is that bit of sentiment definitely, but once the game starts you don’t really think about that stuff,” he said.
