Australia Plans To Bring In Young Players For The T20I Series Against India – Reports

Cricket Australia (CA) is planning a significant alteration to the T20I team, currently trailing 0-2 against India in the five-match series. David Warner was rested before the series started, and it appears that other senior members might also be withdrawn from the squad.

As per a Sydney Morning Herald report, Ben McDermott, Josh Philippe, and Chris Green are expected to be included in the squad. The specific seniors making way are not confirmed, but it is likely to be those who have been on tour for an extended period, starting with the bilateral ODI series in India and the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Adam Zampa, Sean Abbott, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, and even Tanveer Sangha have participated in both the mentioned assignments, being on Indian soil for more than two months.

Additionally, these players were part of a five-match ODI series against South Africa in the lead-up to the World Cup.

Australia is set to compete in the third T20I against India on November 28

The Australian team needs victories in all three remaining matches to reverse the 0-2 deficit. They faced defeat against the second-string Indian squad captained by Suryakumar Yadav in both high-scoring encounters.

Team India achieved their highest successful T20I run chase in the series opener in Vishakapatnam, and in the following match at Thiruvananthapuram, they posted one of their highest T20I scores, securing a 44-run win.

The third T20I of the series between the two teams is scheduled to take place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, November 28.
