The Aussies will be featuring an unchanged XI in the Boxing-day test match in Melbourne starting from December 26. Australia beat India in the first test match to lead the series 1-0. It was a comprehensive win by the Aussies with the team contributing as a whole and therefore they have decided to field the same XI. It gives chances to Matthew Wade and Joe Burns to make contributions at the top-order for the team once again.
In the pre-match presser, Australian coach Justin Langer spoke about going on with the same XI in the Boxing-Day Test.
“I’d be a pretty courageous man to change the XI for this Test match after the last one. At this stage unless something happens over the next few days – and it can happen in the world we live in – we’ll go in with the same XI, I’d say” said Langer.

He also spoke on David Warner who is ruled out of the second test as well after missing the first. He has not yet fully recovered from his groin injury and Langer said that they are hopeful of seeing him return in the third test.
“We got some selection conundrums every game one way or other. Davey had a good hit yesterday, he’s a bit way off with the running. We know how dynamic he is, there’s no one more dynamic in the game with the running between the wickets, with the way he fields. He wants to make sure he’s 100% fit so he gets great energy personally and as a group e get energy out of that. But these things with selection have a funny way of working themselves out” the Australian coach further said ahead of the Boxing-Day Test.

30000 Better Than None: Justin Langer on Boxing-Day Test
Justin Langer further said he is looking forward to getting crowds back for the Boxing-Day test. As per reports per day, 30000 fans can come to the stadium and watch the day’s play.
“30000 is better than none, it’s not the same as 90 obviously. But I’m sure that the 30000 that will come in will provide the atmosphere that we love about the Boxing-Day Test match” concluded Langer.
