Match Preview

Australia was too strong and powerful in every department against India in the first ODI of the series. Their batsman pilled on the runs whereas their bowlers also kept on picking wickets at regular intervals.

On the other hand, the visitors looked below par in the first ODI. This is a must-win match for team India if they want to keep the series alive. Bowlers will have to find a way to pick wickets early whereas the batting will have to come up with a better plan against short pitch bowling.

Pitch Report

It was once again suspected to be a high scoring affair at the SCG and bowlers will have their task cut out.

Average First Innings Score

In the last ODI, we saw Aussies score 374 runs in their 50 overs which will be in the mind of the side batting first. Average first innings total usually at SCG are in the range of 280-300 runs.

Injury and Availability News

Marcus Stoinis is unlikely to feature for Australia after he picked a side strain in the first ODI and Cameron Green is expected to make his debut.

As far as India is concerned they too might give an ODI debut cap to T. Natrajan after Navdeep Saini looked below 100% in the last match.

Australia vs India – Top Fantasy Picks

Steve Smith: The great Aussie batsman for sure has found his hands against his favourite opponents India. Smith lit up SCG with an outstanding century and will be again keen to be among the runs and help his side wrap up the series.

Adam Zampa: Even though Zampa wasn’t at his best in the previous encounter he still picked 4 wickets. There’s just something about the lengths he bowls in ODI cricket and is always never far away from wickets.

Virat Kohli: The Indian captain needs to fire and play one of his vintage ODI knocks. If he clicks India will likely level the series which will charge up Kohli when he comes out to bat in the second ODI.

Jasprit Bumrah: The leader of the Indian pace attack also needs to lift his game in the crucial encounter. Bumrah can pick wickets early which India desperately requires in the second ODI. In the IPL, Bumrah came back whenever MI needed him to perform and he needs to do the same and be a game-changer for India.
