Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson retires from all forms of cricket

Veteran Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson has announced his retirement from all forms of the game today. The left-handed bowler represented Australia in 73 Tests picking up 313 wickets and 280 wickets in the limited overs combined. Mitchell Johnson made this announcement through his Instagram account and the wishes are pouring in for Queensland lad.

Mitchell Johnson hadn”t created an impact in this edition of IPL for the Knight Riders. Tom Curran”s fine form made him sit out of the game in most of the matches. Though there were several rumours regarding his retirement a few months back, the 36-year-old himself has taken social media to break all the secrets.

Mitchell Johnson will always be remembered for his role on Ashes 2013-14 when he made English batsmen dance to his tunes. He picked over 35 wickets on the five-match series as Australia decimated the visitors 5-0. His “threatening” moustache was highly spoken in the series which in fact turned out to be a “fear factor” for the English.

Mitchell Johnson represented for three franchises in IPL: Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders. He added 61 wickets in 54 matches during his tenure and not to forget his valuable addition to Perth Scorchers in BBL. He single-handedly won many matches for the side and his services will be missed for the side.

However, Johnson had called his day in the International arena a few years back. Now, he will not be representing any T20 leagues across the world but who knows Australian players can wear the suits as a commentator as well.
