Axar Patel bagged his fourth fifer in Test cricket as he dismissed Dom Bess. Bess was the left-armer’s fifth wicket in the second innings as the visitors are just two wickets away from losing the fourth Test.  After scoring an invaluable 43 with the bat in the Indian first innings, Patel picked up another fifer as he has almost brought India to the brink of yet another Test win. This win will guarantee India a spot in the World Test Championship final.

Dom Bess had a forgetful match with the ball and when it was his turn to bat the second time around, he scored 2 off 6 balls. It was yet another good catch by Rishabh Pant who himself had a brilliant match with the bat and the gloves.

India have beaten in the fourth and final Test match in Ahmedabad. Doing which they have secured a spot in the World Test championship final. The Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel have ended the series with 59 wickets together. Meanwhile, Rishabh pant top-scored for India in the series with 270 runs in four games.

Pant is India’s highest run-scorer in the format this year. He has already scored 515 runs in just six Tests this year with one century and three scores of 90 plus.

England, on the other hand, was completely outplayed in this Test match. They finished the championship with 442 points and fourth on the table. Meanwhile, this was India’s 13th straight Test series win at home.

India will play New Zealand in the final at Lord’s in June later this year. They top the WTC points table with 520 points followed by the Kiwis on 420 points. India lost to New Zealand in the first Test series that they played in the WTC and they will yet again play the final against the same team.

Interestingly, India also lost to New Zealand inn the ICC 2019 World Cup semi-final. Thus in many ways, it will be a repeat of that game with India seeking to take a revenge.
