India all-rounder Axar Patel announced the arrival of his first child on Tuesday, December 24. Sharing the news on Instagram with his wife Meha, Axar revealed that their baby boy was born on December 19, 2024.
The couple shared a heartwarming post featuring their newborn dressed in a custom India jersey, accompanied by a sweet message. They also disclosed their son’s name: Haksh Patel.
“He’s still figuring out the off side from the leg, but we couldn’t wait to introduce him to all of you in blue. World, welcome Haksh Patel, India’s smallest, yet biggest fan, and the most special piece of our hearts. 19- 12- 2024,” Axar and his wife posted on Instagram.
Axar was excluded from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy
India captain Rohit Sharma revealed during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Boxing Day Test that Axar Patel was not included in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad as he was on paternity leave. Axar was not part of the squad for any Test matches in the ongoing series.
“Tanush Kotian played here in Australia a month back with India A and performed well,” said Sharma. “Kuldeep Yadav wasn’t 100% fit and faced visa issues, while Axar Patel had just welcomed a baby into his family. Kotian was the best option available, given his readiness and recent form.”
On October 7, Axar Patel and his wife Meha announced their pregnancy. Axar shared a touching video on Instagram to confirm the exciting news that he would soon become a father.
The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in January 2023. Axar later posted a video on his official account featuring heartfelt moments from Meha’s baby shower, which included the presence of their families. In the caption, Axar expressed excitement, stating that “a great joy is coming.”
