BCCI Announces IPL 2022 Player Auction List; 590 Players To Go Under The Hammer

A lot of 590 cricketers will go under the hammer during the two-day IPL 2022 mega auction set to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Amongst 590 players who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to associate nations.

Meanwhile, the final list includes 44 new names that were registered in the auction pool upon the request of the franchises. One of those 44 happens to be the England fast bowler Jofra Archer, who the ECB recently said is in the final stages of his recovery from elbow surgery with a planned return to all cricket in June.

A couple of senior cricketers are all set to be auctioned with teams keen to pick the best of the lot as they look to build a squad for the future. The highest reserve price is INR 2 crore and as many as 48 players have chosen to place themselves in this bracket.

There are 20 players in the auction list with a reserve price of INR 1.5 crore while 34 players are in the list of cricketers with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.

IPL has always been a platform to showcase talents on the biggest platform and make a name for themselves. Thus, a couple of U-19 stars, including Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar will be up for grabs during the IPL 2022 mega auction.
