The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has removed former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar from its panel for the upcoming season. Amid all the discussions on coronavirus and series getting cancelled across the sphere, this was a shocker for the cricket fans on Saturday morning.

Manjrekar is one of the most popular commentators in world cricket. While his controversial statements have often had him in trouble, but Sanjay Manjrekar has also developed a strong fan base with his unique commentary style. BCCI dropped him from the panel before the start of the recently-postponed ODI series between India and South Africa.

The former India cricketer in recent times attracted a lot of controversy for his bits and pieces remarks on Ravindra Jadeja during the ICC World Cup 2019 in England. Jadeja, since then, has been one of the top performers in the side across the formats. He also copped a few blows for his bias with the microphone in hand.

Meanwhile, the fans were certainly very happy with BCCI axing Sanjay Manjrekar from their panel. They came up with innovative tweets on microblogging site Twitter to welcome the news and in turn, take a dig at Manjrekar.
