Virat Kohli Makes Ranji Trophy Comeback After 13 Years

Virat Kohli has made himself available for Delhi’s ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. As of now, Delhi stands at 14/1 in three overs while chasing Railways’ first-innings total of 241, posted earlier in the day.

Delhi’s bowlers dominated the opposition, bundling out Railways in just 68 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Upendra Yadav was the top scorer with 95, while Karn Sharma contributed a valuable 50. Currently, Yash Dhull (0*) and Sanat Sangwan (3*) are at the crease for Delhi.

Kohli is expected to bat at No. 4 and will look to make the most of his time in the middle as preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy, which begins next month in Pakistan and the UAE. However, all of India’s matches in the tournament will be played in the UAE.

Despite the Champions Trophy being a 50-over white-ball event, Kohli will aim to regain form in this Ranji Trophy fixture, using the red-ball format to fine-tune his technique and confidence, especially after managing just one century in nine innings during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
