The Rohit Sharma injury saga continues as BCCI has now slammed the Indian opener for not boarding the flight to Australia. According to BCCI, Rohit was expected to depart with team India on November 12 for the upcoming tour of Australia. However, Rohit decided to fly back to India and train at National Cricket Academy (NCA) to accomplish full fitness.
The 33-year-old had injured his hamstring injury during IPL 2020 as a result was omitted by selectors from the Indian squad. Now BCCI has revealed that there was clear miss-communication between them and Rohit. A BCCI source asserted that the board wasn’t aware of Rohit going to NCA after the conclusion of IPL.
Nobody In BCCI Knows Who Asked Rohit Sharma To Head To NCA
The source added that it was completely Rohit’s decision to not travel with the Indian team and head to NCA in Bengaluru. It is now being reported that Rohit’s injury will take time to heal and he is almost out of the Test series against Australia which will begin on December 17.
“Rohit was expected to board the flight with the rest of the team on November 12. But he chose not to and instead headed to the National Academy (NCA). Nobody in the BCCI knows who asked Rohit to head to the NCA. Was it his own decision?” a BCCI source told the news outlet.
Meanwhile, if Rohit is unable to feature in the Test series against Australia it will be a huge blow to Team India. The Indian Captain Virat Kohli has already been granted a paternity leave by BCCI and he will miss the last 3 Tests. The BCCI source admitted that team India will suffer because of a lack of dialogue between them and Rohit Sharma.

“Whatever the confusion, it has dented the team’s preparations. Virat has to return because it’s personal and very important. Rohit had done the same on the previous Test (tour) of Australia. It’s unfortunate that the team will suffer for lack of communication”.
“It was never BCCI’s decision. We have no idea who is doing this”, the BCCI source said.
Furthermore, it is understood that Rohit had exaggerated his injury after playing the IPL 2020 playoffs matches. As a result, he is presently not in a condition to be available from the first Test between India and Australia. The presence of both Kohli and Rohit will be sorely missed by team India as they are already under pressure even before the series has commenced.
