Before The WI Tour, Ishan Kishan Will Travel To NCA For Strength And Conditioning

Ishan Kishan, an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, and a few other contracted players will report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

He had chosen to skip the Duleep Trophy, the first event of the domestic season, which begins on June 28.

The following week to begin strength and conditioning training in preparation for the entire tour against the West Indies.

Starting on July 12, India will play five T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests against West Indies. Rohit Sharma’s team is scheduled to leave on July 3.

Kishan will travel to NCA for strength and conditioning prior to the WI tour

The centrally contracted and targeted players, who are not taking part in any domestic competitions, are typically called at the NCA to get an update on their fitness status when there is a gap between two international series.

Kishan had chosen to skip the domestic red-ball season-opener because the Duleep Trophy was set to be played entirely in Bengaluru from June 28 through July 16, with the final taking place from July 12–16.

Before the Indian team left for the Caribbean, the 24-year-old had the opportunity to play one game with the red ball when East Zone faced Central Zone in the first quarterfinal at Alur in Bengaluru.

Especially now that the current KS Bharat is finding it difficult to make an impact with the bat, the one-off game would have given Kishan a chance to make his case for selection in the Test team.

However, a few days prior, Kishan had decided against competing for the Duleep Trophy.

If he is not included in the starting XI for the Tests, Kishan’s next game will be the opening ODI of the series against West Indies on July 27 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

His last competitive game was on May 26 in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians.
