Ben Stokes, Cameron Green Enter IPL 2023 Mini Auction With 2 Crore Base Price

IPL Kane Williamson

991 (714 Indian and 277 Overseas) players have registered for the upcoming IPl auction on 23rd December in Kochi. One of the notable omissions from this list of players is that of Dwayne Bravo. Other prominent players who have not registered for the auction are Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschangne given that the Ashes begin in June.

The big names like Sam Curran, Cameron Green, Ben Stokes and Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson have registered themselves at the highest base price of 2 crores. Surprisingly there isn’t any Indian player in this price bracket.

Ajinkya Rahane whose base price was 1 cr his price has been reduced to 50 lakhs this time. Punjab Kings Former skipper Mayank Agrawal who was retained last year for 14 crores has set his price at 1 crore.

The IPL franchises have always spent big on players with all-rounder capabilities, especially those who can bowl pace given their dearth in India. So the majority of the attention of the franchises will be on Ben Stokes, Cameron Green and Sam Curran.

Curran played two seasons for the Chennai Super Kings who had been bought for 5.5 crores and missed the last season due to injury. Stokes was a part of the Rajasthan Royals from 2018-2021. However, he opted out of the last edition of the IPL. Green, who will be looking forward to making his IPL debut, is one of the hottest commodities in the auction.

Cameron Green has impressed one and all with performances at the top of the order in India scoring 118 runs at a strike rate of 214.54. He will become an integral part of any team in this format in the future.
