Ben Stokes Included In the ODI Squad For The Series Against New Zealand

The star-all-rounder in the World, Ben Stokes decided to take his retirement from One-day international cricket back. He has been included in the ODI series against New Zealand starting at home. It is a major boost for the England side as they would be defending their title for the upcoming 50-over World Cup to be played in India starting from 5th October 2023. England cricket will face New Zealand in the four-match ODI series.

The team looks balanced and strong with the inclusion of Ben Stokes for this series. Jos Buttler will lead the side. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow will open the innings. Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, and Jos Buttler comprise middle-order batters.

David Willey, Reece Topley, Mark Wood, and Chris Woakes are the pace bowling options for this series. Gus Atkinson performing well in the Hundred tournament has been included. There are plenty of all-round options with the likes of Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are two front-line spin bowling options.

Liam Livingstone and Joe Root could do the job as part-time spinners if one of the two spinners gets belted. England won the 50-over World Cup title for the first time by winning via boundary count against New Zealand in the 2019 finals.
