Ben Stokes Seeks Help On Social Media After British Airways Misplaced His Luggage

The English Test captain, Ben Stokes recently led his team to a remarkable 2-2 draw against Australia in the 2023 Ashes, despite starting with a 0-2 deficit. Taking to Twitter, Stokes voiced his luggage concern and tagged British Airways’ official handle. The airline promptly responded in the comments, pledging to help resolve the cricketer’s issue.

“Bags not turned up off the plane @British_Airways and help would be greatly appreciated,” Stokes wrote on social media.

With ample time to recuperate after the intense five-match series, Stokes plans to address his dodgy knee during the break. Due to the knee injury, he primarily featured as a batter in the Ashes series and scored over 400 runs, impressively notching a hundred in the fourth innings at Lord’s.

Next on Stokes’ international red-ball agenda is a five-match Test series against India scheduled for early 2024. In the Ashes, England managed to win two Tests and draw one against the reigning champions but had 19 points docked for slow over rate, resulting in only nine points awarded overall.

In the past two visits to India, England suffered losses of 4-0 and 3-1, but they remain the last team to have defeated India in their home territory.

Stokes was asked if their aggressive approach would work in India as well. Stokes mentioned in the press conference after the match:

“I remember when we beat New Zealand 3-0, (the chatter) was we couldn’t do it against South Africa, (we) couldn’t do it against Pakistan, (we) couldn’t do it against Australia. So who knows if we can do it against India, only time will tell.”

Coming up, England will welcome New Zealand for a white-ball series starting on August 30, serving as preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup. The tournament will commence in India on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
