Kevin Pietersen Shares A Message For India For The Series-Decider At Gabba

Kevin Pietersen

Former England player Kevin Pietersen believes India have put themselves into a commanding position to script a famous series win in Australia amidst all the injuries sustained in the Indian camp. The ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy has been a series to remember for the Indians given that two players Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are the only ones to be a part of all four Tests, other than which India have played as many as 20 players in the ongoing Test series.

India started off the Border Gavaskar Trophy in the most disastrous fashion after having been bowled out for 36 at the Adelaide Oval, post which the Ajinkya Rahane led side made a spectacular comeback at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to secure the first win of the series. The third Test was all about the off the field drama that went into the Test match as five Indian players were under investigation for a bio bubble breach.

Regardless of which it didn’t hinder the performance of the Indians as Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari batted through injuries for four hours straight to secure a draw at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

‘India have put themselves in a position to secure a famous series win’ – Kevin Pietersen

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen believes India have a strong chance to beat Australia at Brisbane and secure a famous series win. Kevin Pietersen spoke about how the right way for Australians is to beat them in their own backyard which also results in their media turning against their own players.

“I saw plenty of people predicting 4-0 to Australia at the beginning of the series, particularly with Virat Kohli only playing in the first match, but India have put themselves in a position to secure a famous series win.

The best way for India to shut Australia up is to beat them. We did that on a couple of occasions, and it’s quite extraordinary how quickly the media turn on their own players when they start to lose,” wrote Pietersen for Betway.

Kevin Pietersen also shared the limelight onto the altercation Tim Paine got into with Ravichandran Ashwin during the 3rd Test at Sydney. He said it’s in the DNA of the Aussies to sledge so the Indians just have to deal with it.

“If Tim Paine gets himself into another confrontation in the fourth Test, he will go again – regardless of what he says in between Test matches. It is in his and his team’s DNA, so you have to deal with it,” concluded Pietersen.
