The second Test will be a day-night match, with the pink-ball contest set to take place in Adelaide from Friday, December 6.
Yuzvendra Chahal became IPL’s most expensive spinner with an ₹18 crore deal from PBKS
Yuzvendra Chahal was released by Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Given his impressive T20 record, the skilled spinner was expected to attract significant attention at the event.
As India’s top wicket-taker in T20Is, Chahal ignited a bidding war at the IPL 2025 auction, with teams like Gujarat Titans (GT), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) all vying for his signature.
The Punjab Kings won the intense auction battle, signing the 34-year-old for a staggering ₹18 crore. As a result, Yuzvendra Chahal set a new record as the highest-paid spinner in the league’s history.
It’s also important to note that Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in IPL history, with 205 wickets from 160 matches and an economy rate of 7.84.
