This super over wouldn't have been possible without Theekshana dropping Ashutosh on the last ball of Delhi's innings. Hail his fielding skills 🙌 #DCvRR

One small change has made a huge difference. With the use of saliva, the ball is reversing and Starc is twice the bowler.

Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals made a strong start in their chase of 189, with skipper Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal putting together a 61-run opening stand. However, the partnership was cut short in the final over of the powerplay as Samson was forced to retire hurt on 31. Riyan Parag couldn’t make an impact, getting bowled by Axar Patel for just 8.
Jaiswal, Rana Fight Hard But RR Fall Short
A steadying 36-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana helped Rajasthan Royals regain momentum before Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Jaiswal for 51. Rana then built another solid 49-run stand with Dhruv Jurel, reaching his own half-century before falling for 51.
The match came down to the wire with RR needing 9 runs in the final over. Despite being favourites at that point, RR couldn’t get past the finish line as Mitchell Starc bowled a superb last over for DC, conceding just 8 runs without giving away a boundary.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted 188/5 after being put in to bat. Openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel gave the team a blazing start, reaching 33/0 in just two overs. But Rajasthan Royals struck back quickly, removing Fraser-McGurk for 9 in the third over (courtesy Jofra Archer) and running out Karun Nair for a duck in the fourth.
KL Rahul and Porel stabilized the innings with a 63-run partnership before Archer dismissed Rahul for 38 in the 13th over. Porel soon followed, falling for 49. Finishing flourishes came from Axar Patel (38 off 14) and Tristan Stubbs (an unbeaten 38 off 18), lifting DC to a competitive total. Archer was the standout bowler for RR, ending with figures of 2/32.
