Former Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin isn’t really optimistic about India making a comeback in the ongoing test series between India and Australia. India suffered a pounding defeat in the first test after getting bundled out for a mere 36 in the second innings which led to Australia chasing a compensatory target of 93 runs.

The Indian batsman’s inability to play the moving ball in Australia has been questioned by many experts as none of the Indian batsmen could withstand the Australian fast bowling. Brad Haddin feels that India might have lost their only chance in this series as the side won’t be able to recover mentally from the loss of the first test.

I Don’t Think India Will Recover From Adelaide Loss – Brad Haddin

Brad Haddin felt the conditions at Adelaide suited the Indian bowlers which is why that was their best chance in the series. With one of the tests being at Brisbane where Australia have an indisputable record against all nations, Haddin feels the Indians won’t be able to turn it around here onwards.

“I don’t think they will (recover from the loss), I thought their only opportunity to win a Test match was the first Test at Adelaide. The conditions suited their bowling and I thought they’d get enough runs. But I don’t think they’ll be able to turn it around.”

Brad Haddin further added how the loss of Mohammed Shami is going to tragically affect the Indian bowling line up as they now lack depth in the unit. India are now left with Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj in the squad with T Natarajan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Porel and Kartik Tyagi remaining back with the squad as net bowlers.

“You’ve got one Test-up at Brisbane where no one beats Australia. These next two wickets will be suited to Indian cricket, but I don’t think they’ll be able to turn it around, They had a great bowling attack the last time they come out here, and now with Shami out with a broken arm they don’t have enough depth to cover that,” Haddin said.
