The debate of who is the better white-ball batsman between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has divided opinions. Some rate Kohli ahead and some say Rohit Sharma is the best at the moment. Former Australian player has shared his own opinion about who is the best among these two. Brad Hogg picked Kohli ahead of Rohit just because of his record chasing in white-ball cricket.
He stated that the ability of the Indian captain to chase down big targets time and time again makes him special. Hogg also emphasised on the fact that both Rohit and Kohli have different roles in the Indian Team. Both are great batsmen that compliment each other exceptionally well.

Rohit helps in giving India a rapid start in the first powerplay against the new ball. He was in terrific form in the World Cup as he scored 5 centuries and ended as the leading run-scorer with 648 runs. Virat, on the other hand, controls the middle phase of the innings and tries to bat the entire innings.
“Well, Virat Kohli, because he’s more consistent when India has the big run chases as he stands up and delivers but you really can’t compare the two as they have different roles”.
“Rohit’s role is to be aggressive against the new ball bowlers when field restrictions are at their least and Virat’s role is to bat through the innings and make sure he’s there at the end, so they complement each other”, Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
Virat Kohli is currently the No. 1 ODI batsman in the world, with Rohit placed at the second position. The star India duo has earned the reputation of being the best white-ball pair in the world. Since the champions trophy 2013, both Kohli and Rohit have taken their batting to another level. Recently Kumar Sangakkara also picked Virat and Rohit as the “defining pair” for India in the modern era.
