Canada began the T20 World Cup opener against the United States at the Grand Prairie Stadium with an explosive start thanks to their openers. Monank Patel captains the USA team, while Canada is led by Saad Bin Zafar, who hails from Pakistan. However, the co-hosts staged a remarkable comeback by taking two key wickets in quick succession.
Harmeet Singh tricked Aaron Johnson, and then Jasmeet Singh and Monank Patel teamed up to run out Pargat Singh. The incident took place during the eighth over of Canada’s innings, with the team maintaining a strong run rate.

To finish his over, the medium-pacer delivered a good-length ball that Pargat directed toward a deep backward square leg. The batters attempted a risky second run, prompting Jasmeet Singh to retrieve the ball and throw it to Monank Patel.
Although the throw was slightly off target, Patel displayed impressive reflexes to dislodge the bails in time. The TV umpire reviewed the replay and found Pargat short of the crease, ruling him out.
