India defeated South Africa by 48 runs in the third T20I match in Vishakhapatnam. India successfully defended the total of 179 runs. South Africa never looked like competing in this game. With this win, India has registered their first win of this T20I series between India and South Africa.
While chasing the target of 180 runs set by the Indian team , South Africa didn’t get a good start. They lost the early wicket of their captain Temba Bavuma. Axar Patel gave the first breakthrough to the Indian team. Soon, Harshal Patel dismissed Reeza Hendricks who was looking in good touch.
South Africa managed to score just 38 runs in powerplay and lost two wickets. Rassie Van Der Dussen also couldn’t score much. He was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal on a score of 1 run. South Africa was once again dependent on David Miller but he failed to deliver today. Harshal Patel took the crucial Wicket of Miller who was in great form.
Dwaine Pretorius’ innings was ended by Chahal on a score of 20 runs. South Africa was in deep trouble struggling at 70 runs for 5 wickets. Henrich Klassen tried to give a fight but couldn’t make it big. Yuzvendra Chahal took the important Wicket of Klassen. At the end , South Africa fell short by 48 runs.

India stay alive with a good win. Good positives having to do it while batting first. More right processes, let's build on this one.

Hardik Pandya is so lucky today that he can fly a low on fuel plane, with a faulty engine, in a thunderstorm and yet can land it safely to the destination. #IndvsRSA pic.twitter.com/leuUDMI8GM

My player of the match would be @yuzi_chahal. Broke the back of SA middle order. 4-0-20-3, conceded just one boundary. Super stuff 👏🏽 #INDvSA pic.twitter.com/7mAdwebrQT

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan guide India to 179 runs
After being invited to bat first. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan have a great start to the Indian team in powerplay. Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 57 runs in 35 balls , while Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs in 35 balls. In the end, India couldn’t finish properly but still the Indian team managed to score a total of 179 runs.
Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed man of the match award for his brilliant three-wicket haul. Chahal in post match presentation said, “When you get middle-order batsmen out in the middle overs, the pressure is on them. Batsmen try a lot of sweeps and reverse sweeps these days so we have to be prepared for that too, as bowlers. In the last game too there was some help for spinners but I didn’t bowl that well.”
