IPL 2020: Match 18 – Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings: 5 Key Players To Watch Out For

The Kings XI Punjab side is all set to take on the Chennai Super Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Looking at both sides, one side has all its players clicking and performing whereas on the other side CSK is going through a rough patch this season. MS Dhoni‘s CSK hasn’t looked in the best of best touches this season as they are currently placed last in the points table.

While Kings XI Punjab have looked great so far in the IPL 2020 as they have their captain KL Rahul leading from the front who is doing the bulk of the scoring for his side in this season. They also have the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi who are at their peak performance mode and have been delivering the dividends for the Punjab based franchise.

With the match expected to be an ultimate clash between north and south lets take a look at the five key players we should watch out for in this game.

Let’s take a look at the top 5 key players we should watch out for when Kings XI Punjab lock horns with Chennai Super Kings:

1. KL Rahul

The newly appointed Kings XI Punjab skipper has looked indifferent touch altogether this season. Leading the side from the front, Rahul has been doing the bulk of the scoring for his side.

In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rahul notched up a ton to score the highest score by an Indian in the Indian Premier League. Due to him scoring runs on a consistent basis this season, he’s one of the players to watch out for.

2. MS Dhoni

The CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has looked in decent touch this season after not having played a single competitive game ever since that 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.

We witnessed a late blitz the other day from Dhoni against Rajasthan Royals where he sent three of Tom Curran’s deliveries into the stands for mighty sixes.

Then even in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, MS Dhoni looked in fantastic touch though it was seen that he was struggling, he was really timing the ball really but was just unfortunate to not take his side through for a win.

3. Mohammed Shami

The pace bowler from Bengal has looked just too great this season. Mohammed Shami has been bowling overs upfront in the power plays and death overs where he’s picking up picking at crucial intervals of the game.  So far the speedster has picked 8 wickets and is currently the highest wicket-taker for Kings XI Punjab this season.

Shami has been a bit wayward in the death overs in the last game and will be keen to hit the strides against Chennai Super Kings.

4. Ambati Rayudu

The Chennai Super Kings batsmen had a good start to the season as he notched up a fifty in the very first game against Mumbai Indians. But post that game Ambati Rayudu picked up an injury which is why he didn’t feature in any of the games until the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Though Rayudu failed to get on to a big score against SRH, we shouldn’t count this player out as he’s a match-winner and will surely come back strong for Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming games.

5. Ravi Bishnoi

The leg Spinner has undoubtedly been the find of the Indian Premier League so far. Coached by a leg spinner Anil Kumble, he has backed the young leg spinner in all the games Kings XI Punjab have played this year. Bishnoi hasn’t let his coach down as he’s bowled at extreme crucial stages of the game and has picked up wickets when the team has required him to.

More importantly, Bishnoi’s majority deliveries in this season have been googlies which is why batsmen have found it difficult to pick him up. He will have to be on top of his game as Punjab look to bounce back in the season.
