India’s most dependable Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is eyeing to make a return in the IPL. The Indian Test specialist is fresh off a victorious campaign against Australia and is now looking forward to another challenging series against England starting from February 05. Meanwhile, Pujara last played in the IPL in 2014 for Kings XI Punjab. Previously he has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders as well.

Speaking to NDTV, Cheteshwar Pujara said that if given an opportunity, he is confident of doing well in the IPL. Pujara played 30 IPL games between 2008 to 2014. A stint with KXIP was his last in the IPL.

Cheteshwar Pujara Looking For IPL Comeback

“Definitely want to be part of the IPL. Given an opportunity, I am confident I’ll be able to do well,” he told NDTV.

Pujara had started his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders and stayed with them till 2010. He moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2011 to 2013. In IPL 2014 auction, Pujara joined Kings XI Punjab. He was released ahead of IPL 2015 auction. He is a regular in the English Country cricket but will skip the tournament due to restrictions from the BCCI.

The Indian number three has fought against injuries in the recently concluded Test series against Australia. He took as many as 11 blows to different parts of his body.

Ever since, his return back to India, he has been busy giving interviews to various media outlets on how he battled those injuries in the series.

After playing the upcoming Test series against England, Pujara is expected to take a much-needed break during the IPL. Meanwhile, the IPL 2021 auction will be held in Chennai on February 18.
