England vs Australia 2020: Chris Woakes Achieves Career-Best Rankings in ODI’s

England all-rounder Chris Woakes achieved career-best rankings in ODI cricket after finishing with 89 runs and six wickets in the three-match series against arch-rivals Australia. Australia won the series 2-1 after their win in the final game in Manchester.

However, it was Chris Woakes who caught the eye with his performances with the bat and the ball. He is currently ranked number four (675) in the ODI rankings for bowlers and ranks second (281) in the list of all-rounders with Afghanistan’s Mohammed Nabi leading the charts with 301.

Chris Woakes Delivers Clinical Performance

Chris Woakes was clinical with his performance, especially in the final two games. It was Woakes’ spell which turned the game in favor of England in the second game. Australia were looking good at 144 for 2 when Woakes dismissed Marnus Labuschagne (48) and Aaron Finch (73) in quick succession to turn the match on its head.

Chris Woakes scored an important 26 with the bat as well, besides his exploits with the ball in the second match. In the third game, Woakes scored an unbeaten 53 and finished with 2 for 46 with the ball. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t prevent Australia from winning the game, courtesy a double-century stand between Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey.

Virat Kohli Tops Batsmen Ranking in ODIs

Meanwhile. Jonny Bairstow has entered in the top 10 rankings for batsmen after his century in the final game. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are one and two in the list with Babar Azam, Ross Taylor and South African skipper Faf Du Plessis at three, four and five respectively.

While Chris Woakes is fourth in the bowler’s rankings, it is led by Kiwi speedster Trent Boult, followed by his Mumbai Indians teammate Jasprit Bumrah. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the Afghan mystery spinner who is a part of Kings XI Punjab in the IPL is third in the ODI rankings for bowlers.
