Team India’s leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal celebrates his 30th birthday today. Chahal is one of the most beloved cricketers amongst his teammate and cricket fans. Chahal is quite a character as he entertains everyone both on and off the field. The leg-spinner made his name in the IPL and was quickly fast-tracked to international cricket.
The skilful spinner has so far spun a web around various batsman all around the world. He has formed an incredible partnership with Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian team. The spin twins of have helped India win countless matches in limited-overs cricket in the last few years. Popularly known as ‘Yuzi’ is a former national chess champion and has also represented India in the board game.
A proper team man Yuzvendra Chahal is now a regular feature in India’s white-ball squad. He has thus far represented India in 52 ODI and 42 T20I matches. In his ODI career, he has scalped 91 wickets at an average of 25.8. His T20I numbers are even better and he has picked 55 wickets including a five-wicket haul.
The ever-smiling spinner is the second leading wicket-taker for India in the shortest format only behind Jasprit Bumrah. Even in the IPL, Chahal is an integral part of Virat Kohli led RCB and is the only bowler to pick 100 wickets for the franchise.
Yuzvendra Chahal is only one of two bowlers and only Indian who has picked a 6 wicket haul in both ODIs and T20Is. Sometimes his pranks away from the ground overshadow his incredible record while playing for the men in blue.
