The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is still unsure about when Ravindra Jadeja will be joining the squad for the upcoming IPL season. Many of the Indian players including CSK captain MS Dhoni joined the squad well in advance and started preparing for IPL 2021. However, it seems Jadeja is still taking no chance concerning his injury which he sustained during the Australia series and wants to join the squad only when he gets fully fit.

Speaking to InsideSport, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan indicated being uninformed of the status of Jadeja’s availability for the start of IPL 2021. There seems to be a clear lack of communication between the franchise and Jadeja. The all-rounder after his injury during the 3rd Test against Australia was sidelined but was expected to be available for CSK in IPL 2021. Jadeja has posted videos of him training for the IPL season at NCA and is soon expected to join the rest of the CSK squad.

CSK Clueless Over Ravindra Jadeja’s availability for IPL 2021

“We really don’t know when Jadeja is joining us. He has to get released by the National Cricket Academy (NCA),” Viswanathan said.

Meanwhile, it will be certainly a big surprise if Jadeja is not available from the first match of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. Jadeja is one of the key CSK players and the franchise showed faith in him when they retained him ahead of the auction.

Furthermore, MS Dhoni is leading the way in CSK’s camp ahead of the IPL while a number of CSK members have reached Mumbai’s Trident Hotel including coach Stephen Fleming and entered the bio-bubble. The other CSK players who are currently part of the Indian squad are likely to join the team a day or two after the conclusion of the ODI series against England.

“Stephen Fleming and Pujara have reached Mumbai along with some other players. We will begin our camp there on March 27-28,” Viswanathan said.
