Even before the Indian Premier League started, Chennai Super Kings were hit by an irreplaceable loss. The loss was in the form of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh as they backed out citing personal reasons even before IPL kicked off in the UAE.
To much surprise, the CSK management didn’t even name their replacements and now according to reports they have decided to terminate all contractual relationships of the two players.
Earlier this week we saw that Chennai Super Kings removed the names of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh from their official website. Apart from this, they’re also looking to end all contractual relationships with the players.

Suresh Raina holds a lucrative 11 crore contract whereas Harbhajan Singh holds a 2 crore contract, both of which were signed in 2018.
According to InsideSport, CSK to terminate all contractual relationship with Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. If the BCCI doesn’t organise auctions for next IPL season, both Raina and Harbhajan might end up sitting out for the whole season. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that in that very same report that only players playing will be paid, which means whose who aren’t won’t be paid.
CSK Looking to bounce back after 6-day Break
Well, the Chennai Super Kings were on a long break ever his their last game. CSK Head Coach Fleming feels that the break came in at a very good time. They have used this break as an opportunity to regroup, assess their mistakes and then get back stronger.
“It came at a good time because the first three games were in quick succession and all games were at different grounds, so you have to appreciate trying to read conditions, for each game being predominantly the first team to play there was tough,” Fleming was quoted as saying.
He further mentioned how the side has got the clarity on a couple of challenges they will go on to face in the upcoming games.
“And also coming off a couple of challenges we had off the field, we’ve used this break pretty well, we got some clarity around what we need to do and have practised very well,” he said.
Chennai Super Kings will face Sunrisers Hyderabad next on 2nd of October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
