David Warner still remains in doubt for his availability for the third test after he is not reportedly fit from his groin injury. The left-hander injured his groin in the second ODI against India and since then has been under treatment and rehabilitation. Warner had also missed the first Test in Adelaide as Joe Burns and Matthew Wade opened for the Aussies.
Will Pucovski was ruled out as well following his concussion injury in the practice game against India. He too like Warner was not a part of the second Test. Meanwhile, Australian coach Justin Langer is understandably worried about David Warner. Langer said that Warner is doing all he possibly can to get fit. He said that Warner is not having issues while batting but the issues remain with his groin.
There’s no-one more professional and he’s doing everything possible. We saw him bat the day before the game, he’s batting again this afternoon at the MCG, so in terms of his batting he’s flying, it’s just trying to … he’s still having some trouble with his groin and we know how dynamic he is” Langer told Ricky Ponting during a lunchtime interview on Seven.

Justin Langer on David Warner
Justin Langer revealed David Warner will have a net session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday and his progress will be monitored over the next few days. The Australian coach further said that he would dearly love to get him back for the third test.
He is getting closer. And we are hopeful that he will come good. He is certainly hopeful that he will come good. Time will tell. We still have a few more days to go to the next Test match. Fingers crossed he is ready to go the next Test match” Langer said.
Warner along with fast bowler Sean Abbott are training in Melbourne but the duo is yet to join the rest of the Australian squad due to CA’s quarantine protocols.
