With the IPL 2021 auction done and dusted, fans are already excited about the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. As the fans still dwell over the possible venues, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has hinted at the venues where the tournament can stage in India.

Incidentally, BCCI had to shift the last edition of IPL outside India to the UAE amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The tournament took place across three venues- Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, that too at a postponed date from September- November. The entire tournament was also played behind closed doors and without crowds, with the players living for three months in UAE under strict bio-bubbles.

IPL 2021 to take place in India – Parth Jindal

Delhi Capitals co-owner believes if India is hosting the England series and with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy taking place in India, there is no way BCCI can’t host IPL 2021 in India.

“From what I’m hearing and seeing, if England can come and tour, if the ISL (Indian Super League) can happen all in Goa, if Vijay Hazare Trophy (domestic 50-over competition) and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20 competition) can happen across venues, I can’t fathom the IPL moving out of India. I do believe the IPL will happen in India,” Jindal told ESPNCricinfo.

Adding further, Parth Jindal stated that IPL is mulling having the league stages in Mumbai, given that it has three international level grounds in the Wankhede Stadium, the Brabourne Stadium, and the DY Patil ground. This will reduce the cost of traveling and creating bio-bubbles for the franchises as well.

He also said that the playoffs stage might be moved to Ahmedabad, given that it recently hosted the knockouts of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy.

I believe they’re contemplating whether to have the league phase at one venue (city) and playoffs at another venue. There’s a lot of chatter about Mumbai being possibly being one venue because it has three grounds (Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium) and enough practice facilities, and Motera (Ahmedabad) hosting the knockouts, but it’s all unverified, it’s all just what I am hearing,” Parth Jindal said.
