IPL 2020: Match 16 – Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders – 5 Key Players To Watch Out For

It is time for the match between two sides which are known to back players at a very early stage. We’re talking about the encounter between Kolkata Knight Riders and  Delhi Capitals as they are all set to go up against each other at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals will be looking to bounce back after suffering a defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad side in their last game. Whereas Kolkata Knight Riders will looking to continue their winning streak of one game. Shubman Gill has looked in terrific touch since past two games and will look to continue his stellar form.

1. Shreyas Iyer

The Delhi Capitals skipper is another player we should watch out for not just in the next game but the entire IPL. India’s new number four has already proved his credentials in the international circuit and will look to replicate the same for the Delhi Capitals this season.

Last year under his captaincy DC finished third in the points table but failed to qualify for the finals. Which is why Shreyas Iyer will look to go big and hit big with his bat as he captains the Delhi Capitals side for the 3rd consecutive year this season.

2. Shubman Gill

He’s the youngster from Punjab who has been in the talks since quite a long time now. After having an average first game, he came back strong in that match against Sunrisers Hyderabad which he scored an unbeaten 70 off just 62 deliveries to chase down a target of 143. Followed by which he also scored a knock of 42 against the Rajasthan Royals side in their recent win.

As a youngster, Shubman is just going on improving his game as every match progresses. The day is not far when Shubman Gill would go on to represent India in all three forms of the game.

3. Andre Russell

When Andre Russell takes a strike in a T20 match it is one of the scariest sights for any opposition time. The big man from Jamaica, a colossal T20 player that has entertained everyone in his IPL career. Kolkata Knight Riders like every other year will again bank on their superstar all-rounder to deliver the goods yet again.

The defending champion of IPL ‘MVP’ award, Russell just knows how to take his team home during a tense T20 match. He is one of those players that you just can’t keep out of the game. Time and time again he has produced breathtaking performances for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

4. Prithvi Shaw

There is so much to talk about this young batsman of the Delhi Capitals side. Having been picked over the experienced Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw hasn’t doubted his selection by one bit as he played a sensational knock against the Chennai Super Kings which also turned out to be a match-winning knock.

Just like the last game we should expect things from the man from Maharashtra who has been in the talks for the last two years now. If he keeps playing the way he’s been playing we might just see him score match-winning knocks for his side this season.

5. Shivam Mavi

The youngster is one of the most talked pace bowlers in the Kolkata Knight Riders setup along with Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Bowling those overs upfront in powerplays and death overs Shivam Mavi has been exceptional in this year’s Indian Premier League. KKR management instilled faith in Shivam Mavi in 2018 and have backed him ever since.

In the previous game against Rajasthan Royals, Shivam Mavi was the man of the match for his stellar show with the ball as he picked up two wickets for just 20 runs in the four overs he bowled. Out and all, Mavi looks in great touch and expects him to put up an even better show this season.
