The franchise Delhi Daredevils on Wednesday unveiled their jersey for the upcoming Indian Premier League season in 2018.
The team has also announced the captain of their team. Gautam Gambhir who actually started of his journey in the IPL with Delhi has returned as the leader of the pack.
Gautam Gambhir was not retained and hence, released by Kolkata Knight Riders before the 2018 IPL auctions, a team which he captained from 2012 till the last year”s season. He also led KKR to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 and was the highest run-scorer for KKR as well.
Hemant Dua the CEO of the franchise revealed the jersey on the social media network Twitter as well with his tweet.

Gautam Gambhir as well expressed his excitement about returning to Delhi Daredevils and wearing the new jersey, through his tweet.

In an earlier press conference when DD announced their captain as well as the jersey, “Gauti” as he”s fondly called said, “I am more excited than I have ever been” about coming back to his home ground.
Gambhir also cheekily took a jibe at his domestic cricket association when he said, “Its fun to be in a peaceful environment and I haven”t had it in the last couple of years,”.
“Its good fun (to be a part of Daredevils) and it can bring the best out of me. It will be good that I will be able to play in a good, peaceful and happy environment,” He further added.
I for one, am very happy for Gautam Gambhir, he can relax & enjoy the time left in his playing days at the place where it all started of.
With their squad purchased at the auction recently, looking good. And getting a strong leader in with a new attractive and bright jersey, DD will hope for the start of the new era with a long awaiting title.
