Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly responded on the future of MS Dhoni and whether its time for him to step aside from the game.
In a recent interview with India Today, Ganguly said “He (MS Dhoni) is at that stage of his career where he has to evaluate where he stands. He has to decide if he can win matches for India. If he can continue to contribute like MS Dhoni, not someone else.“
Dhoni”s form with the bat came under limelight during the group stage of World Cup 2019. Many legends of the game took a slight dig against him for his slow innings down the order.
Dhoni had some time off the game as he spent days with paramilitary forces at Kashmir. The BCCI selectors mentioned that he has taken a sabbatical leave for a couple of months. In his absence, Rishabh Pant has been given the opportunity to fill the void. However, he hasn”t excelled as expected in the Carribean tour.
MS Dhoni and his availability for SA T20I series
There hasn”t been any update on Dhoni”s availability for the three-match T20I series against the Proteas. The series commences on September 15th.
