Did India A Approach To Pakistan Players For Post-Match Handshake? Video Shows This!

The Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 clash between India A and Pakistan Shaheens stirred conversation far beyond the cricketing action. From the very beginning, it was clear that formal gestures between the two sides would be limited. As noted, there were “no customary handshakes between India A and Pakistan Shaheens players, neither at the start nor at the end” of the match.

Even at the toss, the captains refrained from shaking hands, continuing the pattern seen during the senior men’s Asia Cup 2025 encounter. While cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan is always intense, this time the attention shifted toward off-field behaviour and sportsmanship traditions that were noticeably absent.

Social Media Claims and the Video That Debunked Them

Soon after the match concluded—an encounter that ended in an 8-wicket loss for the Jitesh Sharma–led Indian side—a wave of claims surfaced online. One prominent allegation stated that Indian cricketers had attempted to approach Pakistan players for a handshake after the match.

These reports quickly went viral, merging rivalry narratives with speculation. However, the truth turned out to be completely different. As highlighted, “a wild claim emerged on social media, saying the Indian players reached out to their Pakistani counterparts at the end of the game.”

A video clip later circulated widely, completely overturning the rumour. It clearly showed Pakistan’s players and support staff shaking hands among themselves while India’s team remained separate.

The report clarified that “the claims of the Indian team willing to shake hands with Pakistan at the end of the match, however, are far from what really happened on the field.” The footage confirmed that the handshake routine was internal to the Pakistan unit, not an interaction between the two sides. This visual evidence effectively silenced the circulating misinformation.

Pakistan’s Dominant Performance Led by Maaz Sadaqat

On the cricketing front, Pakistan Shaheens executed a clinical performance, largely driven by opener Maaz Sadaqat’s brilliance. He delivered a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 79 from 47 deliveries, smashing seven fours and four sixes, and also picked up 2/12 to complete a remarkable all-round show. Pakistan stayed ahead from the outset, losing only two wickets in their chase of 137.

While Mohammad Naeem fell for 14 and Yasir Khan departed for 11, Maaz continued steering the innings effortlessly. The Shaheens sealed victory in 13.2 overs, showcasing superior command throughout. Their bowling unit, led by Shahid Aziz with figures of 3/24, further cemented their authority in the contest.
