In the first session of Day 4 in the 2nd Test between Sri Lanka and England, something really hilarious kicked in when Joe Root Sledged Sri Lanka’s skipper Dinesh Chandimal to throw his wicket away who was batting at 9 at that point of time. Surprisingly, Chandimal obliged though he didn’t intend to and ended up throwing his wicket away on the next delivery of a wild slog to Jack Leach.
England are currently on the brink of whitewashing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka which will be a memorable win for the England side as there has always been that chatter of SENA country players don’t not being able to counter the spin on Asian pitches. But this time, the Sri Lankan side who were already hit by a dozen injuries had to go on without a few of their first-choice players into the series.
Dinesh Chandimal Throws His Wicket Away After Getting Sledged By Joe Root
With Sri Lanka’s skipper Dimuth Karunaratne injured, it was Dinesh Chandimal who had to lead the fairly inexperienced side. In the first Test, Sri Lanka suffered a horror defeat as England comprehensively beat them by 7 wickets. The biggest contribution for the English side coming from their skipper Joe Root who launched a double-century knock of 228 runs giving England the early control in the first Test.
Root’s form followed in the 2nd Test as well, where he went on to score a 186 run knock in the 2nd Innings again giving England the early control in the match.
Talking about the hilarious incident that followed up on Day 4 was of Dinesh Chandimal who threw his wicket away after being sledged by the England captain to throw his wicket away. This incident sparked a laughter in the commentary box as Root was pretty much audible when he had sledged the England skipper which resulted in him playing a wild slog to Jack Leach with James Anderson completing a good catch under the clear skies of Sri Lanka.
