Dinesh Karthik Shares Apology For Sexist Remarks On Air

Dinesh Karthik

Team India cricketer Dinesh Karthik, who has earned quite a reputation for his commentary skills, recently copped criticisms for his sexist comments. However, he has wholeheartedly apologised for the same saying that he got it wrong.

During the 2nd ODI between England and Sri Lanka, Karthik had made comparisons between cricket bats and “neighbor’s wife” on Thursday.

“Batsmen and not liking bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat. Bats are like a neighbour’s wife. They always feel better,” the former KKR skipper had said.

Soon after Dinesh Karthik was at the receiving end of severe criticisms. However, the Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer has accepted his mistake and has apologised for the same.

“I want to apologise for what happened last game. It’s not really what I intended. I just got it all wrong. I apologise to everybody. It’s definitely not the right thing to say,” Karthik said.

“I am really sorry that it shouldn’t happen again. I got a lot of stick from my wife and my mum for saying that,” he added.

Dinesh Karthik will be next seen during second half of IPL 2021

The veteran wicket-keeper batsman was last seen in action during the now-postponed Indian Premier League (IPL) plying his trade for KKR.

Dinesh Karthik donned the commentator’s hat for the World Test Championship final and the subsequent bilateral series between England and Sri Lanka with no cricketing assignments in his hand at present.

He will be seen in action once again when IPL 2021 resumes in the UAE during September-October.
